Pre-order Setup Guide
1. Key Fields for Setup:
- Name: Internal name, visible only in the backend.
- Title: Visible to guests as the overall title of the pre-order setup.
- Description: Visible to guests along with the title, providing additional details.
- Required: When selected, guests must choose an item from the pre-order options during booking. If unchecked, guests may skip this step.
- Requires Prepayment: Requires guests to prepay for selected items to complete the booking. This feature requires integration with Stripe or Nets Easy.
- Currency: Sets the currency displayed for guests.
After setting up these core details, you can proceed to select the sections you’d like to include. For example, you might add sections for “Menus” and “Add-ons.”
2. Adding Products to Sections
- After selecting sections, add specific products to each. For instance:
- Menus: Add products like “Menu 1.”
- Add-ons: Add products like “Caviar.”
Configure restrictions for each section or product as needed.
3. Configuring Restrictions and Limits
General restrictions can be set under “General restrictions for ordering in section.”
- Products set to “Follow section” will inherit section-level restrictions. Unchecking “Follow section” for a product will allow you to set unique restrictions for that product.
4. Description of Restrictions
- Fixed Quantity: Sets a fixed quantity that guests must order (e.g., if set to 5, only 5 items can be chosen).
- Pax Fixed: (General restriction only) If selected, guests must order a number of items equal to the number of guests. For example, if “pax fixed” is set and there are 4 guests, they must select 4 items. This is commonly used for menu items where each guest needs a selection.
- Pax Limited: Limits guests to order a maximum equal to the number of people but does not require them to meet that number.
- Unlimited: Allows guests to choose as many items as they like, typically used for add-ons.
- Products Can Be Mixed: Allows guests to select from multiple products within a section. For instance, in the “Menus” section, guests can select between vegan and non-vegan options. When combined with “Pax Fixed,” this ensures each guest must choose a menu item but can mix options within the section.
